Jerry L. Ellstein, M.D

Jerry L. Ellstein, M.D., founded Hand Surgery Associates of Long Island in Huntington, New York in 1991. His practice soon became Jerry I Ellstein MD - Hand Surgeonknown as “The Hand Center” to many residents of Long Island. He specializes in surgery of the hand and upper extremity. After having completed general surgery internship at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, Dr. Ellstein completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, New York. Following his residency, he graduated from the fellowship program at The Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis. His practice has expanded throughout both Nassau and Suffolk counties and is now known as the Long Island Hand to Shoulder Center.

Dr. Ellstein has been certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. He is a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Ellstein is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, New York State Orthopedic Society, New York Medical Society, Long Island Orthopedic Society, American Medical Association, and the Suffolk County Academy of Medicine. Dr. Ellstein is the past President of The New York Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Dr. Ellstein is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He has lectured at numerous local and national meetings and has published several scientific papers and book chapters. Dr. Ellstein is a consultant with United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Suffolk, Inc.
