Baseball/Mallet Finger

BoutonniereBoutonnière Deformity, or “buttonhole deformity,” causes the middle joint of the finger to bend in a fixed position toward the palm, while the fingertip is bent away from the palm. Resulting from an injury, rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis, this deformity may often be treated by splinting, but may require surgery in some cases.
